Free People Intern Design Challenge

The following images contain my process and final submission for the Free People Intern Design Challenge. The prompt was to create 2-3 prints for their 2024 fall collection, demonstrating your understanding of the Free People brand. What I love most about FP is how its bohemian aesthetic merges sophisticated and eclectic styles in each piece.

To me, the FP girl does not shy away from experimenting with her fashion tastes, pulling inspiration from anything she sees in her day-to-day life. In the same manner, I wanted to take inspiration from Latin and Hispanic interiors that showcase a combination of geometric and organic structures. I am passionate about sustainable fashion and wearing pieces that can be reused. Moreover, I wanted my prints to be a transitional piece between the Summer to Fall season.

Mood boards made on Adobe Illustrator, along with screencaps of my initial notes and drawn elements on Procreate.

The following images are the final patterns organized and recolored on Photoshop. I've also created two mockups using photos from Unsplash to gain a better sense of where I would like these patterns to lay on.
